Latest dataset

The EUPLEX dataset contains information on all procedures in the EUR-Lex database and complexity measures for the associated legal texts (the proposal texts currently). The dataset is updated in regular intervals to include new cases, measures and bugfixes. Find out more in the accompanying article published in the Journal of European Public Policy as well as the codebook and the technical documentation.

When using the dataset, please cite the following article. To retain reproducibility in the best possible way, please also make sure to note the dataset version and the version of our analysis code (see metadata below).

The EUPLEX dataset is a living dataset. This means that it is regularly updated to include new procedures, text and improved measures on their policy complexity.

The data is collected in an automated process which enables us to keep the large scope of the dataset manageable. As a result, we cannot manually check and validate each and every case in the dataset. Thus, if you have any questions, issues or suggestions on how to improve and expand the dataset or come across any bugs in data, please do not hesitate to contact us.
